"Share a Yacht" or "Pot Luck" as it is often known is where you come on a Sailing holiday on your own and then mix with others that you do not already know, to make up the crew of a yacht that sails as part of the flotilla.

This option is different to our Learn to Sail Holidays, as in this case we do not have one of our instructors onboard the yacht, so anybody choosing this option must already be at a certain minimum sailing level, ideally a basic skippering level.

This latter is a requirement, simply because we cannot leave people on board a yacht, without being sure that they are competent and qualified to skipper it. If everybody on board is at least at a basic skippering level, then we can be sure that there is enuogh experience on board to crew it safely

Pot Luck Flotillas 29th April & 6/13th May:

These packages are ideal for anybody who is either unable to get enough friends together to charter a yacht, or who is travelling solo, and are priced at £125 per person plus an onsite cash payment of £25 per person to cover the yacht fuel, end cleaning and security deposit insurance.

With the information provided we match you up with other suitable shipmates for the duration of the holiday.  That is, we will crew a yacht with a mix of Skippers and Crew depending on the information to hand on our booking forms.  Pot Luck trips are not suitable for beginners, or those with little or no sailing experience, and anybody in this category should be looking at our Learn to Sail Holidays.

In Croatia we operate from our base on Murter Island, sailing around central Dalmatia and the Kornati Islands. This area offers a good mix of ports ranging from town quays by small island villages, marinas with full facilities to larger Venetian towns such as Sibenik.  A trip to Skradin and opportunity to visit the famous Kyrka waterfalls is always popular and this is an ideal time of the year when the falls will be in full flow.

On board expenses for food, marina and mooring charges etc. is done by a kitty system that you run yourselves on board the yacht.  For mooring and marina fees we suggest allowing around £75 for the yacht for the week. Evening meals are taken ashore in local tavernas.

The yachts used will be a mix of 31ft two cabin yachts where there will only be a maximum of three people on board or larger 35ft three cabin yachts there there can be up to five on board.

The weather at this time of the year can be uncertain. Over the week we would expect a mix of conditions. By day in the sunshine it should be quite warm but it will be cool in the evenings.  We could also have some rain or cloudy days and strong winds cannot be ruled out.  Overall however there should be excellent sailing.  The sailing season in Croatia starts at the end of March and there will be plenty of other yachts out at this time of the year.

This package is not suitable for anyone wishing to bring children in their early teens or younger.
